Eric Celestino: The Body that Dances Memory and Movement

Eric Celestino is an Afro-Brazilian artist from Rio de Janeiro who turns dance into living memory and cultural expression. More than a dancer, he is a storyteller through movement, a guardian of tradition, and a bridge between cultures. With over 15 years of experience, he has performed on major stages such as the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Rio Olympics, as well as countless cultural projects throughout Brazil.


A specialist in Samba de Gafieira, Forró, and Samba no Pé, Eric also teaches Bolero, Salsa, and Afro-Latin fusion. His teaching goes beyond steps and technique he creates experiences that connect the body to energy, ancestry, and community. For Eric, every class and performance is an opportunity to embody culture, share presence, and inspire transformation.


Now based in California, Eric is beginning a new chapter with Rio Ritmo Movement, a project that will, starting in 2026, bring Brazilian dance to audiences in the United States and worldwide. At the same time, he nurtures the dream of creating a social project in Rio de Janeiro, offering free dance classes to children in vulnerable situations changing lives in the same way art once changed his. For him, to dance is to remember, to be free, and to dream the future.
